Re: His Dark Materials. They are very good books! But the ending is actually quite controversial and negatively affected my overall opinion of the trilogy (not an ending I would have chosen for what are supposed to be children's books). I vowed never to have anything to do with them again, except that the movie for the Golden Compass looks REALLY COOL, so I guess I'll be going to see that, because I'm a tool.
