monkeymom's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Monday, but it's Tuesday now.

Well this is really Monday's entry but I'm writing it after midnight so it has Tuesday's date on it.

Rachel and I went out this morning to apply for her passport and to get a criminal background check that is required for her visa. It was a long ordeal at the post office to apply for the passport because first we had to stand in line and then she had to redo her application, owing to the fact that she had signed it at home, and it has to be signed in person in front of a witness.

So we filled out another application, and then she had to show her driver's license, but she couldn't find it! She scrounged around in her purse, and finally we went back to the car, and she emptied her purse, piece by piece, and at last her drivers license turned up in a handful of reciepts and notes.

We went back in and stood in line again and at last I was allowed to write checks to pay for the application, and to pay the postmaster for allowing us to apply in the office, and to expedite the paperwork, as we hope to get it back quickly.

After lunch we called the doctor's office to see about getting the required shots, and there are about six that she needs, haha. Rachel was tired from being out for two hours, and I had to go to work, so we are going to go out for the shots tomorrow.

*****

As promised, here is the movie review of Someone Like You -

What I didn't like was that the relationship between the two main characters never visibly developed to the point where I saw the love happening. When she was telling him how she felt about him at the end, I thought that he was going to blow her off, because I just didn't see those feelings on his face at all. That might just be his lack of talent.

Diana felt that seeing Hugh Jackman with his shirt off made up for the shortcomings of the movie, but I can't agree. Sometimes bare chests and nice apartments (and I did love the loft) just can't carry a movie.

"I think bare chests can always carry a movie but only if it's Hugh J or Nicholas Cage." - Diana
