Just remember when the dream appears...
Here is why we don't let Kim watch the news on TV - she was crying last night about the pets who might have died in the WTC. Rachel told her that it was a building full of offices and that people don't take their dogs to work, but Kim wasn't convinced.
So I did a search on the internet and found a lot of information about pets in apartments in the area and the rescues that were done. It's positive, for the most part, and I think it will be interesting reading for her tonight. I hope she'll be able to find comfort in it.
Rachel and I went out this morning to shop for stuff to put in care packages for Scott and Jason.
When Jason was on his mission, one of the members gave him a gift certificate to JCPenney. On Saturday, Rachel and Jason were looking up something in their scriptures and he found the gift certificate in his and gave it to Rachel because he never goes shopping.
Rachel has been teasing him about his neckties - he has two and they're both ugly, according to her. So we went to JCP with the gift certificate and used it to buy a very beautiful necktie!
She wanted to buy him a Freeport Pretzel T-shirt, too, so we got one for both Jason and Scott. We got some Autumn flavor mixes at the Jelly Belly store, and then we mailed a box to each of them.
Rachel had a talk with Rich last night about the ugly velcro shoes he buys for himself, and mentioned the hideous TaeKwonDo necklace he's been wearing, too. It was pretty funny, especially since she has never been a person who goes shopping or cares about fashion.
I do all the shopping for all my kids; I just go to the Gap or Old Navy, or order from Eddie Bauer, because those are the clothes I like, and they are happy to wear them. I was a little worried when Rachel went to college and had to occasionally buy something for herself, but she has done okay so far.
