Catsy likes Modest Mouse and NIN

Go here and look at this picture of Kim! Her friend Catsy made up her face and took the picture! Kim looks amazing in that picture - much better than the hideous pic I posted of her a couple of days ago, wearing the Kimono sweater.

I know these entries have been horribly dull lately, but I really haven't done much worth talking about. It's cold and boring here and I never do anything interesting. Rachel has some things going on, but they are mostly school related, so it's all about studying pharmacology and practicing IVs. Fascinating stuff. She has been spending hours talking on the phone to a young man she met online at LDSSinglesforareason, and she's having a lot of fun with that, but after the Asshat debacle, she's afraid that any moment now he will mention that he's addicted to porn, or might be gay (but it was only that one time at band camp), and then it will all be over. So far, so good, though.

Kim has some minor drama going on with her friends, but it's too complicated to go into. She's getting a couple of awards next week at a school board meeting, so we have to attend that to applaud when she gets them. Yawn. Apparently she is fabulous, but when you live with it every day, you get jaded.

Last night Rasheed called to ask Kim to pick him up at his after-school tutoring job because he had locked his keys in his car while he was distracted by an argument with Catsy via cell phone. He was at an elementary school where he does the tutoring, so I went with her to help her find the school. When we were taking Rasheed back to his house to get a spare car key, we were listening to the radio, then a bad song came on -

Me: Don't you have any CDs in here?

Kim: They're in the back. (Gestures toward the CD changer in the trunk.)

Me: Oh never mind, they're just your crappy New Age CDs anyway.

Kim:(offended) My crappy CDs? You know what? I have never liked Weezer!

Me: What? Hey!

Kim: And Elvis Costello? I don't like that Angels Want to Wear My Red Shoes song, either!

Me: Ow, you wound me!

Then so Rasheed wouldn't think we were really fighting, we started abusing Catsy's musical taste, because we all hate what she listens to.

Scott and Carolyn are still waiting to find out if they will be spending the summer in China, but they don't know yet.

So that's all the news from here. If anything exciting happens, I'll let you know.
