monkeymom's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The prodigal luggage has returned!

Our luggage! It has arrived! It only took 7 days, and some powder that was in my suitcase got puffed all over inside, but hey, my clothes smell good!Unfortunately, they are covered in powder, so they smell good but can't be worn.

I called Rachel to tell her the bags were here, and she is at work, so she sent Ash to pick them up. He came over while I was at the grocery store, so when I got home their bag was gone, and I had to call to make sure it was him and not a burglar that had taken it. I'm sure he was wondering why the TV was on when no one was home, but that's not my fault! Rich thinks the dog watches it when we're gone.

Rich's parents were here this weekend. They came to town for Rachel's graduation, which we have no pictures of because Ash's camera was in the missing luggage, Harold forgot his, and mine had dead batteries like always.

The graduation ceremony was actually pretty entertaining. The speakers were amusing, and it was mercifully short. There were only 80 nursing students, so it wasn't like when she graduated with her first degree, and we were there forever in a hot gymnasium, wearing painful shoes. This time I was wearing comfortable boots, for which I was grateful, because the sidewalks from the parking lot to the conference center were icy!

We all went out to eat afterward, and Rachel was the happiest monkey in the world! No more classes! Woot! She's got three weeks until she starts working at a hospital, and she is planning to do some pleasure reading, and some knitting and just relax!

Kim only has class for three days this week, and is almost caught up from the week of Archeology class that she missed when she was planning to withdraw, but then her withdrawal was denied because it was past the deadline, so she had to arrange to make up what she'd missed. She can do it, though, and she's doing it! Next week she has finals, and then she comes home on Saturday!

Well, that's all the news for now. If anything exciting happens, I'll let you know.
