monkeymom's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His car seat is damp after class, too.

Went to the new yarn store downtown today with Rachel. We took our knitting and just went to sit and chat. We thought it would be fun to spend a little time in the shop and get to know the owner.

We had an okay time, but it wasn't really that thrilling. There was an employee from the store across the street already there when we arrived, an older lady with no teeth (Why would you employ someone who comes to work without her teeth? Who goes to work without their teeth? It was odd.), who was helping the yarn shop owner read a crochet pattern.

So the two of them worked on the crochet pattern and Rachel and I knitted and talked to each other. It wasn't a bad time, and it was nice to sit and knit together. We were there for a little less than an hour, and before we left we looked at all the yarn but didn't buy any. Was that a faux pas? Sometimes you just don't need yarn! She has some nice yarns, but not enough sock yarn, and not enough knitting needles. I know she is expecting more sock yarns, and I hope she is going to be getting a lot more needles.

In other news, I cooked tonight! It was just curried chicken, but I haven't made it in a while and it was really good. It was just Kim and I for dinner, because Rich eats light on Tae Kwon Do nights.

Yes, Rich is going to TKD classes again, because he thinks he needs more exersize - like walking Buffy five miles a day isn't enough! He must be planning to work on his second degree black belt, and good for him, but has he forgotten about the pain from his aging knees? And what about the Flying Side Kick Incident, in which he flew over three folding chairs and didn't stick his landing? He did some ugly damage to his knees that time! Oh, and what about the horror of him coming home wearing his sweat-soaked uniform, and sitting on the furniture? The next person to sit there wonders why the seat is damp...ewww! Buttsweat!

Oh well, if it makes him happy, you know me, I don't complain (much).
