monkeymom's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only 6 more days until we can take down the tree!

It's melting! All that snow we had last week? It's been melting today, because the temperature went up into the 40s! It was so warm that we thought we'd go for a walk tonight, so Scott, Carolyn and I put on our shoes and coats and started out the front door. Oops! Very slippery, and after watching Carolyn slide her feet gingerly down the steps, I declined the opportunity to try it for myself. We went back in and took off our coats and shoes. Time to find something else to do!

It was a pretty quiet day at our house. Rich's parents left in the morning today, instead of tomorrow, because the weather forecast didn't look good for traveling on Saturday. In the afternoon, Scott, Carolyn and Kim went to play a game at Rachel's, and stayed there through dinner.

While they were all gone, Rich and I took care of Soren. He took a nap, so it wasn't all that much work to watch him. When he woke up, we gave him a bottle of milk, a banana and some Cheerios, and Rich helped him with his plan for World Domination. We were a little confused by his new-fangled Velcro diapers, so he spent most of the afternoon with a droopy diaper sagging off of his butt. Scott demonstrated the proper diapering technique when he got back, so we're ready for the next time they want to go out and leave the baby with us.
